LifeLine Durban social workers, Zanele Vilakazi and Thobekile Mzobe attended, Varsity College Durban North Campus Suicide Prevention Awareness Day on the 08th of September.
Suicide amongst the youth in South Africa is a cause for concern, South African data states that 30.6% of students had thoughts of suicide (suicide ideation) in the past 12 months. Less than a third of students who need psychological support receive it.
Understanding the importance of mental health and emotional wellness is our scope of services at LifeLine Durban. Thank you to Eshana Ratibar from Varsity College for having #LifeLineDurban at this event.
